Auralo 2.0, a new look · Public beta for iPhone and Apple Watch · Try it free

Know what today is for, before you get up.

Your day in a few words (Recharge, Build gently or Go for it) and the reason in one line. Then a short plan that ticks itself off from Apple Health. When Auralo is guessing, it says so.

Get beta access, free On TestFlight now for iPhone and Apple Watch.

  • Explains last night. After a rough night, see when you slept against your usual and what lowered your recovery, in points.
  • Three rings, one glance. Recovery, sleep and strain inside each other, each with a tick at your usual, turned into what to do today.
  • Your day, in order. Plan, brief, training, light and bedtime in one list with times. Your run, steps and breathing check themselves off.
  • Honest about guesses. No Watch last night, a cold, a short history: the score says how sure it is.
  • Any Apple Watch, or none. Works on older Watches, other wearables, and iPhone alone. No new hardware, no membership.
The Auralo 2.0 Today screen: three rings inside each other for recovery 74, sleep and strain, each with a tick at your usual, a picker to switch the ring in focus, and the verdict that a medium workout suits today because heart variability is above your usual.
The real Today screen, running on sample data.

A day with Auralo

One ordinary Tuesday, from the alarm to lights out. The screens are the real app, running on sample data.

  1. Wake up

Recovery is 47. Your usual is 60.

So today is an easy day, and the morning notification says so before you unlock: your recovery zone, the reason (HRV is 14% below your usual) and today's strain target. Open the app and Today shows last night next to your usual bedtime, and how much each thing moved your recovery. It also says what changes it tomorrow (bed by 10:55) and how sure it is: good, from 28 nights of Watch data. Scores compare you with your own last 30 days, never with strangers.

Morning brief: recovery 47, sleep 7 hours 22 minutes of 8 hours 18 minutes needed, yesterday's strain 66. Today: easy. Why: recovery is 47, your usual is 60. Light activity, keep it conversational.
  2. Today's plan

One move, four small things. You won't log any of them.

Today's move is an easy run, or a long walk if the day gets away from you. It comes from the training week you set up: push, pull, upper, lower, full body, cardio or rest on each day, with your own saved routine on any weekday. Swap a task for one that suits your day and your streak stays. Don't drink coffee? Turn the caffeine item off. The run, your steps, your breathing and your bedtime tick off when Apple Health records them. Caffeine counts as done unless you tag a late coffee.

Want intervals instead? Fine. Bed moves to 10:20, and tomorrow will probably be easy too.

  3. Water

Drip says it's time for a glass.

Water reminders follow a schedule built from your body and today's workout. Drip, your water buddy, sits on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while you use other apps: happy when you're on track, a little thirsty when you're behind. Tap + to log a glass without opening Auralo, or tap Drip in the corner of any tab to log anything else.

  4. Stress

Your heart is racing at a desk. Two minutes?

When your heart rate runs high for the hour and you aren't moving, Auralo offers a short breathing break. Follow the circle on your iPhone, or gentle taps on your Watch. Skip it and nothing breaks.

Stress is higher than usualTwo minutes of slow breathing could bring it down.

    Coherent breathing · 5.5 a minute · 2:00

  5. Workout

An easy run that stays easy.

Your Watch shows your heart-rate zone and how close you are to today's strain target of 35 to 55. Near the top of it, one tap on your wrist: ease off. The run lands in Apple Health and ticks itself off your plan.

  6. The plan keeps up

It plans from what you did, not what it asked for.

The run landed at strain 44, inside the band, so bedtime stays at 10:55. Had you done intervals instead, bed would move earlier and tomorrow would start easier. No scolding. Tomorrow's plan starts from today.

    Run done · strain 44Inside today's 35–55. 4 of 5 done. Bed by 10:55 stays.
  7. What if

Try a bedtime. Watch tomorrow move.

On Evening review, slide bedtime to 10:30 and tomorrow's recovery forecast rises, with a range, because it's a forecast. Next morning, Recovery shows what you actually got. Running an experiment, like no caffeine after 2 pm for 14 days? After two weeks it tells you whether your sleep really moved, or it was just noise.

Bed at 10:30 · tomorrow about 56Likely 49 to 62. Experiment: day 9 of 14, no caffeine after 2 pm.
  8. Wind down

Bed by 10:55. It learned that from you.

The wind-down notification puts the two times first, wind down and in bed, so one glance is enough. The sleep coach works out how much sleep you need from how you recover. Tonight that's 8 hours 6 minutes, learned from 21 nights, so it's time to put the phone down.

Sleep coach, tonight: wind down 10:25 PM, bedtime 10:55 PM, wake 6:56 AM. Need tonight 8 hours 6 minutes; base need 8 hours 11 minutes; adjustment minus 5 minutes.
  9. Sleep

Lights out. The Watch takes it from here.

Overnight, your Watch records heart rate, HRV and sleep stages. The smart alarm wakes you in light sleep inside a 30-minute window, which is how this Tuesday started at 6:48.

  10. Day 23 Streak

A cold last week didn't break it.

Your streak counts the days you followed your plan, and rest days count too. Tag a sick day or a long flight and the plan shrinks to three gentle things, the scores stop judging you, and an ice-break keeps the streak. One bad day doesn't wipe out a month.

Streak: 23 days, flame level. Six days done this week. Best 23 days, ice-breaks 2 of 3, today 2 of 3 tasks.

Plain words for beginners. Every number for the rest.

New to tracking? Auralo talks like a friend who knows the science. Already know your HRV from your RHR? Switch to Advanced for baselines, deltas and how confident each score is. You can change it any time.

Questions

When can I get it?

The public beta is open now on TestFlight, free. The App Store version doesn't have a date yet.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Auralo is best with Apple Watch, and it also works with other wearables, such as Oura, Garmin and Fitbit, that sync to Apple Health. With just an iPhone, it uses your steps, activity and sleep from any app that writes to Apple Health. Overnight heart rate and heart-rate variability make recovery and stress more precise. Which wearables work.

Why not Apple's Readiness app?

If you have it, use both. Readiness gives you a score and a label on the newest Watches. Auralo turns the morning into a day: a plan that ticks itself off, a band for your workout, a bedtime learned from you, and a note when it's guessing. It also works on older Watches, and on iPhone alone. How they compare.

Can Auralo replace WHOOP or Athlytic?

For many people, yes, if you have an Apple Watch. Auralo gives you a recovery score, a strain target, a sleep coach, a smart alarm and a plan for the day for free, from the Watch you already wear. Keep WHOOP if you want a screenless band or Android. Keep Athlytic if you like it: both apps read Apple Health and can run side by side. Auralo vs WHOOP · Auralo vs Athlytic.

Can I bring my workouts from Hevy or Strong?

Yes, from the next beta. Both apps can export your history as a file from their settings. Import it into Auralo and your exercises, sets and weights come across, so "last time" shows beside your very first set.

What if Auralo doesn't have enough data?

It says so. In the first couple of weeks it's still learning your usual, and without a Watch overnight, recovery is a rough estimate from your iPhone. Every score shows how sure it is, in Beginner and Advanced alike. Tag a cold or a flight and it stops judging and plans a gentler day.

What happens to my health data?

It stays on your iPhone and Watch. Auralo reads from Apple Health and works everything out on your devices. There are no accounts, servers or analytics. Nothing leaves your phone unless you send a challenge or export a file yourself.

Which iPhone and Apple Watch will it need?

An iPhone with iOS 18 or later. The Watch app needs watchOS 11 or later.

How much will it cost?

The core app will be free. Auralo+ will be $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year, with a 2-week free trial.

Is there an Android version?

No. Auralo is built on Apple Health, and we'd rather do one platform well.

Is this medical advice?

No. Auralo gives wellness information to help you understand your habits. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. If something feels wrong, talk to a doctor.

Tonight's sleep becomes tomorrow's first plan.
