The short answer
Use Oura if you don't want to wear a watch to bed. A ring is light, comfortable overnight and lasts days between charges, which makes sleep tracking easy to keep up. It works with Android, and its membership adds an AI advisor and long-term views.
Use Auralo if you have an Apple Watch and would rather not buy a ring from $349 and pay $69.99 a year on top. Auralo adds what Oura doesn't do: a smart alarm, a plan for the day that ticks itself off, and a forecast for tomorrow. Or use both: Auralo reads the sleep your Oura shares to Apple Health.

Switching from Oura
- Turn on Apple Health in the Oura app while your membership is active. Oura's help page says sharing on Gen3 rings and later needs one.
- Know what crosses over. Oura shares sleep with stages, heart rate, respiratory rate, steps and workouts. It doesn't share HRV or resting heart rate, so Auralo's recovery from Oura alone leans on sleep and shows a lower confidence.
- For the full recovery score, add a Watch at night, or switch to it. Auralo picks one device per night, preferring one that recorded sleep stages.
- Export your Oura history as CSV from Oura's Membership Hub if you want to keep it.

Questions
Does Auralo work with Oura?
Yes. Auralo reads what Oura shares to Apple Health: sleep with stages, heart rate, respiratory rate, steps and workouts. Oura doesn't share HRV or resting heart rate, so recovery from Oura alone is less certain, and Auralo says so.
Does it work without an Oura membership?
Maybe. Oura's help page says Apple Health sharing on Gen3 rings and later needs an active membership. If your sync keeps running, Auralo keeps working from what it shares.
Ring or Watch: which is better for sleep?
The best one is the one you'll wear every night. A ring is easier to sleep in and lasts days. A Watch gives Auralo HRV, a smart alarm and Watch-side breathing, but needs charging around your evening.
Which costs less?
If you already own an Apple Watch, Auralo: the core app is free and Auralo+ is $19.99 a year. Oura starts at $349 for the ring plus $69.99 a year.
